VMI TRUE VIEW (H0100VD)
(Revision 1.0)
Image File Viewing Utility for Windows 3.0
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Files Enclosed:
TRUEVIEW.EXE - The executable program.
TRUEVIEW.DOC - The formal documentation as it was printed.
IMAGES.EXE - Three Targa images in a self-extracting executable.
README - This Addendum
Addendum:
The following is additional information that did not make it into the
documentation prior to its printing.
Known Bugs:
1. When you try to pick a file from a network directory, windows
doesn't give you a [..] (up-directory) choice. Solution: NetWare directorys
don't include the ".." entry by default, but you can tell it to. Create a
shell configuration file called SHELL.CFG in the same directory as your
network drivers. Put one line in the file: SHOW DOTS=ON. Make sure that the
log-in batch file switches to that directory before loading the drivers. The
next time you boot up and enter windows, you will have [..].
2. There is one form of Targa file that this viewer will not read
properly: An image that is scanned right to left. An attempt to load this file
will aboart the load, bringing the focus back to the previous picture. This
form of file has not yet been encountered. If you do find one that won't
load, please let VMI know (see below).
3. When viewing very small files, the menu bar doubles in vertical
size. This pushes the image down, off the bottom of the client area and gives
a vertical scrollbar. Solution: Manually resize the window afer the load.
4. There is one driver that I have come across that will not allow a
SetDIBits command: namely the Tseng HiColor (32K color) Driver. If you are using
this driver, you will get a UAE (unrecoverable application error). In this
case, use setup to switch to one of the 256 color drivers that are provided.
This will be fixed when Trueview version 2.0 is released.
